pattern review: Homemade mini couture: candycane

 

What a cute summer dress. I love it. Although the pattern doesn't ask for a zipper, I would add one if it were to be made from cottons. This is a jersey so it is fine. 

The pattern

Dress with ties on the shoulder, gathered skirt and scalloped hem.

Additional info:

• 3-10yo (EU). I made a 4yo.
  
• Recommended fabrics: none. Since there is no zipper I will suggest knits.

The fabric

• 0,5 meter printed jersey from familyfabrics.nl
  
• ca 0,25 meter raspberry cotton jersey from budgetstoffen.nl

Instructions

The book has picture guided instructions, but does miss a sizing chart. I made a 4yo hoping it will be the same as other Dutch/German pattern compagnies.

Fit:
I made a size 4 for my 2,5yo. It is bigger than 4yo sizes of other companies. Perhaps it would be smaller in a cotton/non stretch fabric. Don't forget a zipper then, the pattern doesn't ask for one.

Conclusion

I like the style of the patterns in this book. I think I will make more from it.
