Pattern review: Ottobre #3/2020; Shirt 16

I traced the pattern, cut it, copied it on the fabric, cut the fabric and sew the top within three hours. It is absolutely wonderful.

The pattern
Shirt with cut on sleeves. Contrasting neckbinding, sleeve cuffs and pocket.

Additional info:
  • 92-128 (EU) - 18 m - 8yo. I will make size 110.
  • Recommended Fabrics : Jersey knits
  • Rated 1/3
  • Ottobre magazine #3/2020. From their site
The fabric
  • ca 0,4 meter fabric, cotton jersey with print that changes in the sun. (about 0,5 x 1,0 meter)

Instructions:
They don't give measurements or pattern pieces for the neckbinding. Instead they refer to a general informational piece telling you to measure the neck-opening, multiply it by between 0,85...0,95 and do a testpiece. If you sew a lot of shirts, it is nice to know how to measure a neckbinding yourself (and how much to stretch different fabrics), but the beginning sewists would rather just want the measurements without doing the math or testing it themselfs.
I skipped the neckline binding and the contrasting cuffs and pockets. I just folded all the seams and did a zigzag stitch.

Fit:
As expected.

Conclusion:
Very nice for printed fabrics, easy to sew.
