Sew along: Fibre Mood #11; heaven dress - finished 25-09
Cutting the pattern
The front of the dress is made out of a center and two sides, so is the back. To save on seams and cutting I placed the pieces (without seam allowances) together. The space between the pieces will be darts, so a back and front dart in the waist and a shoulder dart in the front. I can't draw the pattern on the fabric so I used needles to outline the pattern. I took a picture and thought it looked like a thread. And then the thread seemed a better idea.
Outlining with thread, better idea.
Darts in the waist and shoulder.
Darts in the waist in the back.
Sewing the shoulder dart in the sleeves.
Sewing the center back seam in the sleeves.
Sewing the back to the sleeves.
Sewing the sleeves to the side front pieces.
Finishing the neck opening with a cotton facing. Finishing the sleeves with an elastic tunnel and the hem regularly.
