Sew along: Gertie's Charm Patterns; Lucille Shorts

The idea
The Lucille trousers are fabulous. I used the waistband on my high-low skirt already and will make the shorts version from this scuba.

The pattern
These ’40s style trousers are so elegant, they’ll have you feeling like a Hollywood icon. With a beautiful pleated front, a generously cut cuffed leg, and roomy pockets, these trousers are both functional and flattering. Choose between a high shaped waistband (our special contouring side darts give you an extra-curvy look) or a simple straight waistband. Or use the included cutting line to make shorts.

Additional info:
  • 2-20 (US but they are larger than the big 4), I use the size 18 (normaly an 22)
  • Recommended fabrics: fabric for pants
  • not rated, but instructions are sufficient and tutorials are online
  • This bodice expansion is for Patreon only (a kind of subscription)
The fabric
ca 1,1 meter scuba with stretch from Jan Sikkes

Cutting the fabric.
The waistband and the pants are pretty big pieces. Also some roomy pockets mean fairly large pieces as well. I didn't really look at the print as the flowers are pretty large and do not have a specific orientation.
Pocket and pleat.

Zipper in the back
