Sew along: Burda 06-2020 coat 132

 

The idea

What to do with halve a meter of wool. It will be a girls spring coat. I left of the hoodie as there is not enough fabric.

The fabric

• 0,5 meter wool from cutehouse.de
• 0,5 meter jersey from stash
• cuff fabric.
  

The pattern

summery coat for little ones, hoodie is lined with same fabric.

Cutting the fabric.

THe fabric is wide enough to put the front, the back and the sleeves next to each other. The fabric was long enough to make the coat 2 inches longer.

Sewing is pretty easy. Sew shoulders, insert sleeves and sew sideseams. I topstitched the seams because I like how that looks.

 

 

Do the same for the lining. Looks like a nice combination.

Put collar and cuffs and baste. Sew lining to coat and sleeves. Topstitched the intire outlining.

Quick sew, needs some buttons.

Fancy lining.

Love the collar. It makes it that the wool won't itch the skin.

Coulda shoulda have made the cuffs longer.

Will iron the back a little bit. But I love love love the coat.
