Sew along: B*trendy #9; 1759 (butterfly) tunic - finished 21-10
Cutting the pattern.
I love this butterfly print very much. It's rather expensive, that is why I chose to mix the fabric with a matching solid jersey from the same company. The fabric is very soft and good quality though. I cut the front, the back and the outside of the collar in the butterfly fabric. The sleeves and the inner collar are from the solid fabric. I decided to leave out the kangaroo pocket since I liked the pattern placement on the front as is.
Sew the inner and outer collar together on the long side. |
Close the collar on the short sides, the side that will be attached to the neck will stay open. |
Love the collar. |
Sew the tunnel (could also be bias binding). |
Sew the front and the back sleeve together at the underarm seam. |
Sew sleeves to dress. |
Close the upper arm seam with the burrito roll method. |
Roll one sleeve and dress like a burrito. |
Fold 'burrito' in one sleeve. |
Close sleeve, right sides facing and in it is the complete dress. |
sew upper arm seam. |
Remove dress from one side. |
One upper arm seam closed, repeat on other side. |
Add collar, cuffs and band at bottom dress. Add elastic to the tunnel. |
Soooo cute. |
