Sew along: Knippie #3-2019: 20 Kid's Jumper - finished 21-8

Cutting out the pattern
I cut the front on the fold, rather than in two pieces. It makes it so there is no cut in the print. I think they made a seam in the front to save fabric. This is one of the smaller sizes so I could fold the fabric for the front, then again for the skirt back and have enough left for the top back and the pockets.

Finish the pockets with facings. Fold them back and topstitch in place.

Fold the edges over, pin in place and topstitch.

Finish the opening in the back. Sew the center seam.

The tunnel for the elastic is made from three parts. (Below the pattern pieces. The middle part is on the fold, the right part is cut twice). The middle part is about 8 inches long and it asks for 4 inches of elastic band. Sew the elastic on the middle part. Sew the outer parts on the middle part.

Sew the skirt (right side up), tunnel (rightside down) and the bodice back (rightside down)

Topstitch the bottom of the tunnel to the skirt.

The outside shows the topstitching of the bottom of the tunnel.

Sew the side seams and the shoulder seams. Finish the arm openings, the neck opening and the hem.
