PATTERN REVIEW: CHARM PATTERNS; PATREON APRIL+may 2023; ELSA CULLOTES+gina bustier

The pattern
Va va voom! The sexy Gina Bustier was named after Gina Lollobrigida, an Italian actress, photographer, politician, and artist known as “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.”
Perfect for summer, this boned bodice can be worn as a top, either ending at the waist or cropped to show a little skin. It has a power mesh back for comfort and a snug fit.

Dreaming of summertime beach pajamas, I was inspired by a vintage pattern in my collection to create these wide-leg Elsa Culottes.
Make them from a sturdy fabric like silk matka for more structured pants, a breezy fabric like rayon for a drapey look, or a light-weight wool flannel for warm winter wear. They are such a versatile new addition to your wardrobe!

Additional info

  • 2-20 and 18-34. I made mine a size 16 and graded to 18 in the waist (like usual). And it fitted like a glove. Her patterns are really high up under the arm (good for posture) and I took some out with my second version.
  • Recommended Fabrics : wovens
  • not rated; very easy as there are sufficient instructions

The fabric

  • 3,5 m of viscose + 0,5 m cotton for lining

Cutting the fabric.
The bodice is made from 8 pattern pieces. The pants are fairly straightforward. I sewed them together et voila.

Instructions:
all her patterns come with a elaborate video tutorial.

Fit:
Good, but the underarms are notoriously high even for my relative thin arms. I took a little bit from the cup after the first version, and took some out from under the arms.
