Sew along: Knipmode 3/2019: coat 3 - finished 7-7

Cutting out the pattern.
Trying to keep all the pattern pieces aligned this time. I thought if I would put pieces upside down, it would show in the roses.

First, lets start with my first welt-pockets. Two linings and two fabrics.

Also four pocket welts. Kudoos for those who can see it will not work like this.

Reinforce the part where the pocket will be and two of the four pocket welts.

Sew two lines parallel. Right sides facing.

Cut between the lines and then under 45 degree angle to the beginning and end of the two sewn lines.

Turn pocket on the inside.

This is the pocket ironed in place. The next step is to fold the flap back over the hole. I didn't have enough fabric to fold it this way. Next time, cut the strips wider. If the two lines are 2 cm apart, the flaps need to be 4 cm wider.

I sew the lining to the welt flap. The fabric pocket is also sewn to a welt flap. Next sew pockets together.

If there was enough fabric of the first flap to fold back you would not have a hole like this. Rather it would be a small line where two pieces of fabric would meet.

Inside of the pocket.

Shoulder darts of bodice front.

Side front to bodice front. (same for the back: sides to center)

Sew skirt to bodice front and back.

Sew shoulder seams and side seams.

Outer shell without sleeves.

Sleeves out of two parts.

Lining.

Back facing (chambray) to lining back.

Lining front to lining side.

Facing (chambray) to lining front and side). Sew shoulders.

Sew collar to stand. Sew stand to shoulder and neck. First pin to outer shell. Then pin lining (facing) to outershell and collar.

Sleeve lining.

Insert sleeves, turn inside out, turn part of lining sleeve rightside out, slip lining in sleeve and sew together.
Sew sides of lining and facings to outer shell.
